She was predeceased by: her father Jacques Bitoun. She is survived by: her fiancé Scott Frischhertz; her fiancé's children, Amanda Frischhertz Tassin (Timothy), Scott David Frischhertz Jr. (Sarah) and Cody Alton Frischhertz (Quinlyn); her mother Lydia Rose Burgess; her siblings, Mimi Cheramie, Jackie Bitoun, Theresa Bitoun and Michael Bitoun; her godchildren, Lawrence Amedio Jr. and Sara McGrath; Mila, Lucca and Palmer.
Joelle was an advocate of organ donation since she was a recipient herself.
