He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence H. Holmes Sr. and Lucille Harper Holmes; his son Jeffrey Holmes; his stepdaughter Rebecca Thornhill; and his brothers, Billy and Robert Holmes.
He is survived by: his wife Camille Moniotte Holmes; his stepchildren, Karen Monteleone (Paul) and John West (Tara); his grandchildren, Jade Winn (Sean), Claudia Miley (Kendra), Madelyne Booth (Brennan), Schoen Holmes and Jessica Holmes; and his great grandchildren, Chloe Winn, Patrick Winn, Paxton Winn, Kylie Pond, Jayce Burch, Phoenix Monteleone and Celestia Newman.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chemistry Department at Southeastern Louisiana University.
