She was predeceased by: her parents, Emerson Newman and Jean Newman. She is survived by: her husband John; her children, Elizabeth and Rick Joji of Humble, TX; her grandchildren, Gavin, Kaden and Alyssa; her son Joseph Schott of Tickfaw, LA.; and her siblings, Eric Newman, Donna Newman Black and Suzanne Travis. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
