Rene Gerard Abadie Obituary
We are sad to announce that on June 19, 2025, at the age of 77, Rene Gerard Abadie of Hammond, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Abadie Sr. and Helen Wilson Abadie; and his siblings, Maurice "B. C." Abadie Jr. and Jeanne Abadie Spitzfaden. He is survived by: his wife Cecelia Farace Abadie; his sons, Dominic Abadie (Liz) and David Abadie (Elise); his grandchildren, Madeline, David Evan, Daniel, Audrey and Lily; his sister Yvonne Abadie; and his siblings-in-law, Thomas J. Spitzfaden, Dominick Farace and Bonnie Abadie. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, June 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A Mass will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (4640 Canal St, New Orleans, LA 70119).
In honor of Rene's spirit of giving, donations may be made lieu of flowers to any pro-life or veterans charity.
