He was predeceased by: his wife Carol Burgett Handrop; and his children, David Derek Handrop and Ellen Diane Handrop. He is survived by: his daughter Lori Handrop Mendoza; his son-in-law Richard Mendoza; his grandchildren, Taylor Mendoza Alphonso (Micah), Mason Mendoza, Mikah Mendoza and MacKenzie Mendoza; his great grandchild Novah Alphonso; and his cousin Gary Boutwell (Glenn). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home (2000 N Morrison Blvd, Hammond, LA 70401). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
