He was predeceased by: his spouse Sweetie B. Lofton Curtis; his parents, Love Curtis and Katie Fultz Curtis; and his siblings, Don, C. L. Curtis, Ola Mae Smith, Clonie Mae and Sadie Curtis.
He is survived by: his children, James Curtis, Sr. (Kim), Hazel Curtis Chaffin (Clarence), Howard Curtis, Sr., Josephine Curtis (Delrick), Maxine Curtis and Donna Marie Curtis Clark; and his grandchildren, Nakishia Curtis, Howard Curtis Jr., Tasha Curtis, James Curtis, Jr., Howard King, Sheneaka Collins, Tom Collins, Artrevia Curtis and Terrence Curtis. He is also survived by 23 great grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Fresh Start Cathedral (1542 Pailet Ave, Harvey, LA 70058). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. FACE MASKS ARE RECOMMENDED.
