Though Charlie may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucille Taylor of Blackjack, Texas. and Morris Simmons of Blackjack, Texas.; her husband Roger Wright; and her siblings, Ada Simmons and Gwennette Norman Sr. (late Johnny).
She is survived by: her children, Sharon Johnson Sr. (Pastor Harvey) of Harvey, LA and Gail Brown (Wayne) of Round Rock, Texas.; her grandchildren, Kevin (Erica) and Minister Harvey Johnson Jr. (Chantrelle); her stepgrandchild Arianne Johnson; and her great grandchildren, Layla Johnson and Kiersten Johnson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and devoted friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the New Sunrise Baptist Church (1325 Leboeuf St, Gretna, LA 70053). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
