Betty leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Betty’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Betty will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She is survived by: her husband John Henry; her children, John Vice (Bo) and Sonja Vice (Robert Horton); her grandson Kolton Vaughan (Caroline); her sister Brenda Hale; and her niece Marta Roper.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Martin Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to one of Betty's favorite charities: Shriners Hospitals for Children (2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607), in gratitude for their years of tender care of her brother Damon; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105).
