He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Loftis and Johnson Loftis; his son James Tracey Loftis; his brothers, Lindsey (Vickie) and Frank Loftis (Shirley); and his mother-in-law Ona DeMent.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Brent Loftis (Ronda) and Tammy Barton (Steve); his grandchildren, Derek Loftis, Jared Loftis (Chelsea), Benjamin Barton, Hannah and Hope Barton; his great grandchild Caleb Loftis; his sister Beverly Hill (Bill); and his extended family, Ron and June Feaster.
