We announce the death of Mary Plunkett (Haughton, Louisiana), who passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 91. Mary will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Earnest Herrington and Pearlie Herrington; her husband Charles Fred Plunkett; her son Wayne; her grandson Peyton Plunkett; and her siblings, Marie, Elaine, Rita, Benny and Eugene.
She is survived by: her sister Carolyn Barkley; her grandchildren, Wayne Jr. (Nicole), Eric, Danny (Falon), Stephen (Lauri), Jimmy (Jennifer), Joey, Terra, Toni (Jeremy), Brandi (Jay), Bubba (Misti), CJ (Alicia), Heather (Derek), Courtney, Whittney, LeAnna (Allhana) and Lynsey; her great grandchildren, Hailee, Fenton, Ethan, Rylan, Krystal, Christopher, Brandon, Amber, Terra, Tanner, Tyler of Tate, ABI, Taylor, Evan, Ray, Colton, Dixie, Jacob, Jocelyn, Jameson and Ada Jane; and her great great grandchildren, Iris, Coleman and Aden.
A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Pease Chapel Cemetery. A reception was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Eastwood Church of Christ (4100 US-80, Haughton, LA 71037).
