We announce the death of Donald Ray Williams Sr. of Homer, Louisiana, who passed away on September 7, 2026, at the age of 82. Donald will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie H. Williams and Susan Young Williams; the mother of his children Helen Heckford; his wife Patsy Ruth Geter Williams; and his siblings, Lenora Hoss, Melvin Williams, Willie Williams and Clinton Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Ray Williams (Gena) of Pineville, LA and Karen Matthews (Thomas) of West Monroe, LA; his grandsons, James Fletcher and John Fletcher; and his great grandchildren, Trinity Fletcher, Lilly Fletcher, James Fletcher and Jude Fletcher. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Rose-Neath Funeral Homes - Homer (405 E 5th St, Homer, LA 71040). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers honoring Mr. Don, his family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
