With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rex Jarrell Young of Homer, Louisiana, born in Athens, Louisiana, who passed away on April 10, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Harrison Dewey and Cecil Speer Young; his wife Patsy Scarborough Young; and his brother Ralph Young. He is survived by : his sons, Michael Rex Young (Karlin) of McKinney, TX and Marty Todd Young (Laura) of Hot Springs, AR; his brother Freddy Mac Young (Sharon) of Jackson, MS; his grandchildren, Tara Michelle Young, Ryan Michael Young (Nichole Walker), Alec Todd Young, Jill Lynn Young and Julia Grace Young; and his great grandchild Harper Young. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rose Neath Funeral Homes - Homer (405 E 5th St, Homer, LA 71040). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home (405 E 5th St, Homer, LA 71040).

In lieu of flowers honoring Mr. Rex, his family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Homer, LA.
