He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Kirpatrick and Retha Waites Kirpatrick; his daughter Tanya Patricia Kirkpatrick; and his siblings, Walter Kirkpatrick (Jane), Helen Bates (Lory) and Ethlene Keener.

He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Kirkpatrick; his children, Roger Blaine Kirkpatrick (Cindy) and Elizabeth Ashley Smola (Christopher); his brother Glenn Kirkpatrick; and his grandchildren, Caden Kirkpatrick, Carter Kirkpatrick, Owen Kirkpatrick, Ciara Colquitt, Marissa Colquitt and Patricia Colquitt. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
