With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruby Dean Cotton of Homer, Louisiana, who passed away on October 31, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Ruby is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Ruby's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Cotton and Rachel Wafer; and her son Sheldon M. Cotton. She is survived by: her sons, Myron V. Cotton of Los Angeles, CA and Desmond B. Shelby of Colorado Springs, CO; and her grandchildren, Desmond Shelby Jr., Desmond Shelby II, Nashyra Cotton, Sheldon Cotton Jr. and Shalise Cotton. She is also survived by Five great-grandchildren; And a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Forest Grove Cemetery.
