He is survived by: his wife Melissa Rhodes Gilbert; his children, Amber Gilbert, Mykel Gilbert (Jennifer) and Devon Gilbert (Hayley); his stepdaughter Maya Billiot; his grandchildren, Alayah, Ryleigh, Amelia, Bubba, Axel, Bryleigh, Landen and Allie; his parents, Duane Gilbert and Susan Lirette; his brother Richard Gilbert (Yolanda); and his stepsiblings, Robert Lirette (Sharon) and Beth Gautreaux (Buddy). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Eloi Catholic Church (1335 Bayou Dularge Rd, Theriot, LA 70397). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
