He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Lou Cunningham; his parents, Andrew Cunningham and Lillian Cunningham; his brothers, Elward Cunningham and Philip Cunningham; and his sister-in-law MaryJo Cunningham.
He is survived by: his siblings, Eric Cunningham (Mary Lee), David Cunningham, Brenda Theriot and Jane Breaux (Jimmy); his sisters-in-law, Betty Cunningham and Jane Cunningham; and his stepsons, Rick Benson (Ellen), Greg Benson (Mary), Rob Benson (Denise) and Lance Benson (Cheryl). He is also survived by nine step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Samart Funeral Home of Houma (635 Bayou Blue Rd, Houma, LA 70364). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
