We announce the death of Hosea Mae Gray (Houma, Louisiana), who passed away on October 12, 2026, at the age of 77. She was predeceased by: her parents, Odeal Smith Willis and Hosey Hornsby. She is survived by: her children, LaDonna Leblanc (James), Tomika Patterson (Herbert), Timothy Gray (Sonya), Charles Gray, Jr., Theophilus Gray and Shawn Gray; her grandchildren, G'wana Gray, Christian Hyatt, Lashira Gray, Alexis Gray, Diontray Brumfield, Tyree Gray, Curtis Anderson Jr. (Destini) and Carly Anderson; her sisters, Beatrice Scott and Ruth Peters; her goddaughter Cynthia Norman; her uncle Marshall Smith; her niece Pamela Ross; her husband Charles Gray, Sr.; her siblings, Lucille Williams (Charles, Sr.) and Lloyd Johnson (LouEthel); her brothers-in-law, Earl Scott, Godfrey Peters Sr., Vernon Stein Bass and Hollis Bass Sr.; her grandchild M'Quel Gray; and her daughter-in-law Rene Watson Gray. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Greater New Salem Baptist Church (818 Lafayette St, Houma, LA 70360). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
