He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Benson and Ola Beatrice Pixley; the mother of his children Mary Lou Broussard Cunningham; and his wife Joyce Bell Fountain Benson. He is survived by: his sons, Rick Benson (Ellen), Greg Benson (Mary), Rob Benson (Denise) and Lance Benson (Cheryl); his stepchildren, Debra Woodcock, Green "Ken" Fountain (Nickie) and Sam Fountain (Mary); his grandchildren, Ryan (Daniela), Richard, Kacie, Brandon (Phoebe), Laura, Jessica (Lyle), Nathan (Jelly) and Christen; his stepgrandchildren, John, Steve, Travis, Dwayne, Grace, Rachael and Clarissa; and his great grandchildren, Caleb, Hayden, Kayden, Brendyn, Weston, Lara and Elise.
