He is survived by: his children, Devale Townsend (Cathy), Phebe Tillman (Corey), Nitrell Townsend, Queenat Young (Cory), Kanyetta Griffin, Ivy Townsend and Raven Tillman; his siblings, Joseph Townsend, Sr. (Martha), Joyce Harris (late James Harris) and Wayne Townsend (Elaine); and his close friend Catherine Posey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and at 11:00 AM at the New Rising Sun Baptist Church (230 St Charles St, Houma, LA 70360). A burial was held on Sunday, October 25th 2026 at the New Rising Sun B. C. Cemetery (230 St Charles St, Houma, LA 70360). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at the New Rising Sun Baptist Church (230 St Charles St, Houma, LA 70360).
