He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo Smith Burns; his daughters, Julie Burns Rhodes, Donna Burns Bergeron (Lawrence) and Cindy Burns Joffrion (Arthur); his siblings, Carl Burns (Elaine), Darryl Burns (Rick), Errol Burns, Cheryl Burns Bourg (Nicky) and Debra Burns Kastner; his grandchildren, Megan Rhodes Daigle (Taylor), Mary Catherine Bergeron Boudreax (Taylor), Caroline Joffrion, Lauren Bergeron Viguerie (James), Maggie, Frank and Quinn Joffrion; and his great grandchildren, Julia Daigle and Lillian Viguerie.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church (8594 E Main St, Houma, LA 70363). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Annunziata Catholic Church in Houma.
