He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thomas Bass and Elizabeth Rebecca "Becky" Morris Bass. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Liz" Landry Bass; his brother Robert "Bob" Bass (Linda); his children, Aaron Bass (Cheramie), Casey Bass (Doug) and James "Jim" Bass (Amanda); and his grandchildren, Lauryn, Claire, Tyler, Lily, Kate, Grace, William Bass, Chuck Weaver, Jr. (Kelly), Julie Weaver, Jules Weaver (Mackenzie) and James Weaver (Bella).

Viewing will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Matthew's Episcopal Church (243 Barrow St, Houma, LA 70360). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 11:45 AM to 12:15 PM.
