He is survived by: his brother Dan; his wife Lois Neve; his children, Rick Carter (Rhonda) of Longview, TX, Megan Carter of New York, NY, Chris Carter (Frances) of Ida, LA and Jon Carter (Leah) of Blanchard, LA; his grandchildren, Aaron Carter, Lauren Whittington (Colby), Nick Dowling, Cullen Dowling, Ava Carter and Joe Sam Carter; his great grandchildren, Colson, Mary Catherine, Georgia Mae and Ensley; his sister Dr. Jo A. Carter of Baton Rouge; Jerry Adams, Chris Dominick, George Ethridge, Paul Grimm, Don McCutcheon, Steve McCutcheon, Murray Moore, Jon Sartor, Penny Shaw, Billy Stockton and Teakus Weaver.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Carter Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Ida Methodist Church (6874 Cedar Ln, Ida, LA 71044). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Ducks Unlimited, St. Jude's, Lewy Body Dementia Association or Ida Methodist Church.
