He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gerard and Leona Granger Gerard; and his wife Mary Joyce Gerard. He is survived by: his sisters, Martha Benoit and Dorothy Begnaud (Robert). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the Johnson & Brown Funeral Home (505 US-90, Iowa, LA 70647). A rosary was held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. John the Evangelist (306 Ann Street, Lacassine, LA 70650).
