John Wayne Dawsey Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Wayne Dawsey of Iowa, Louisiana, born in Port Barre, Louisiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 27, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid John Wayne farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For John Wayne is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Dawsey and Gladys Dawsey; and his wife Maxine Dawsey. He is survived by: his children, Cody Dawsey, Bruce Dawsey, Joan Dawsey Schoenfeld and Vicki Dawsey Ricke; and his sister Pat Fox. He is also survived by five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Heart Association to honor Wayne's memory.
