He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Bertrand and Eunice Courville Bertrand; his children, Latch Ramour, Jimmie Marcantel and Marilyn Reed; and his sister Joyce Arceneaux.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Bertrand; his children, David Marcantel (Christine), Jerome Sonnier (Vicki), Letha Bertrand, Nanette Castille (Richard) and Christine Leger (Mike Fontenot); and his siblings, Roland "Perch" Bertrand (Henrietta), Collins Bertrand (Althea) and Jeanette Fontenot (Donald). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home of Iowa (505 US-90, Iowa, LA 70647). Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Consolata Cemetery (2300 Country Club Rd, Lake Charles, LA 70605).
