He was predeceased by : his parents, Gabriel Richard and Odette Comeaux Richard; his siblings, Ida Mae Alford, Margie Richard, Lorena McCrory (Buddy), Irene Donovan, John Richard (Hazel) and Gabriel Richard, Jr.; his brothers-in-law, Bill Teal and Tommy Dixon; his niece Dana Wright; his nephews, Harold Donovan and Charlie Dixon; and his parents-in-law, Felix R. Dawson, Virgil A. Kling, Rosemary Kling, Ethelea McNeese and Gloster "Mac" McNeese.

He is survived by : his wife Ann Dawson Richard; his children, Wendy Peters (Larry) of Jackson, LA, Lisa Boyette-Turner (Jerry Williams Jr.) of Zachary and Scooter Boyette (Trudy) of Zachary; his sisters, Jean Dixon, Rose Teal and Vivian Hughes (Mike); his sister-in-law Mary Alice Richard-Ford (Bill); his grandchildren, Tiffany Lanoue, Katie Rowe, Emily Turner, Gracie Turner, Remi Williams, Jade William, Bryce Averton (Martin), Carly Boyette, Darcy Giannobile and Peyton Giannobile; his great grandchildren, Rylie Leggett, Taylor Posey, Mason Rowe, Hazel Giannobile, Marty Averton, Walter Averton and Hudson Averton; his siblings-in-law, Ray C. Dawson and Floye F. Dawson; his caregivers, LaShecia Middleton, Gracie Kohnert, Jacquelyn Duplantis, Dr. Millitello, Kim, Floor, Bob Denny and Scotty Dawson; and his brother Clark Fooshee. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
