He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Jefferson Durham and Mary McDonald Durham; his wife Beverly Hunt Durham; and his siblings, J. D. Durham, Lois "Tootsie" Rogers, Farris Durham, Marie Bruno, Ruth Garner, Wilmer "Buddy" Durham, Bernice Carlisle, Raymond "Bo" Durham and Carl Lee "Sampson" Durham.

He is survived by: his brother Dallie "D. L." Durham; his sons, Gerald Durham (Kris), Robert Durham (Janie) and Brian Durham (Sheila); and his grandchildren, Stephen Durham, Robbie Durham (Danna), Katherine Smith (Caleb), Jeffery Durham (Courtney), Hope Worthan (Jacob), Daisy Hooter (Jake), Faith Durham, Cyera Durham and Donnie Durham. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
