He was predeceased by: his father Edmond M. Benoit of Welsh, LA; his wife Janice Benoit; his parent Olite Hoffpauir Benoit of Winnie, TX.; his sisters, Judy Stubbs and Phyllis Benoit; and his grandson John Michael Benoit The.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl A. Smith (David) of Starkville, MS, John Michael Benoit (Yasmina), Kenneth P. Benoit (Dianna) of Casper, WY, Christopher Montz (Patty) of Jennings, LA, Nathan Montz of Jennings, LA and Lawrence Robert Benoit Jr. (Patricia) of Starkville, MS; and his siblings, Edmond R. "Randy" Benoit of Eunice, LA, Gertrude Fontenot of Jennings, LA and Dorothy Smith (John) of Jennings, LA. He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Matthews Funeral Home - Jennings (511 N Cutting Ave, Jennings, LA 70546). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Greenwood Cemetery (1355 Evangeline Hwy, Jennings, LA 70546).
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Jennings, LA or to a military charity of your choosing.
