She was predeceased by: her husband Joel; her parents, Annie Yvonne Shirley Hayes and Harold Lavergne Hayes; and her aunt Lucy Illa Shirley Hayes. She is survived by: her son Joel Phillip Oustalet, II (Kelly Talley) of Slidell; her grandchildren, Richard James, Jack Cannon, Easley Oustalet, Georgia Ann Picou of Jennings du and Sutton Lucy Oustalet (Stephanie Bentley) of Lafayette; her brother Donnie Hayes; her cousins, Nita Bradas Deville, Jeff Bradas of Rapides Parish and Mike Bradas of Grant Parish; her children, Jolie Oustalet Picou (Richard) of Jennings and Chance Christian Oustalet of Jackson; her brother-in-law Ronnie Oustalet; and her nephew Samuel Hayes. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church (710 N State St, Jennings, LA 70546). A rosary will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 12:30 PM. Her teaching and special education skills came in handy when helping to school her four eldest grandchildren, Richard James, Jack Cannon, Easley Oustalet and Georgia Ann Picou of Jennings during the COVID pandemic.
