It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bernice (Shakelford) Alexander of Jonesboro, Louisiana, who passed away on April 8, 2026, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Otis Shackelford and Winnie Shackelford (Liles); her husband Cleveland Alexander; and her children, Mack Alexander, Gerald Alexander and Phyllis Alexander.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Kelly Riser (Trey), Kim McClary (Robert), Mick O'Brien and Cody Alexander; her daughter-in-law Peggy Alexander; her great grandchildren, Trevor Riser (Gabby), Jacob McKaskle (Julia), Jaden Hendrix and Emma Hendrix; her great great grandchildren, Kaylee Riser, Kara McKaskle, Ty Riser and Hal McKaskle; and her niece Janice Templeton. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
