It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ellen (Lewis) Chelette of Jonesboro, Louisiana, who passed away on June 5, 2025, at the age of 108, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Jesse Chelette; her daughters, Verda Rhoda Antie Foster (Chelette) and Betty Ann Chelette; her stepchildren, Randolphe Chelette, Charles Chelette and Imogene Brymer (Chelette); her parents, William Lewis and Lillie Lewis (Jackson); and her siblings, Ernest Lewis, Roy Lewis, Raymond Lewis, Gladys Lewis, Elmer Lewis, William Lewis, Jr., Jesse Lewis and Hazel Berryman (Lewis).
She is survived by: her children, Bowman Chelette and Linda Driggers (Chelette); and her grandchildren, Tim Driggers, Barry Brymer, Casey Antie, Debbra Worley, David Chelette, Mitzi Chelette, Tony Chelette, Rhonda Ponder and Gina Smith. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Southern-Edmonds Funeral Home (228 Allen Ave, Jonesboro, LA 71251). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the McDonald Baptist Church Cemetery (1676 LA-4, Jonesboro, LA 71251).
