She was predeceased by: her mother Minnie; her stepmother Rita Smith; and her in-laws, Maxine, Edward Hughes, Joy, Bub Haile, Billy Wyatt and Jane Hughes.
She is survived by: her husband Jerry Shankles of Jonesboro; her children, Russell Hill (Michelle) of Quitman and Amanda Shankles of Jonesboro; her brother Bill Hunt (Doris) of Bay City, Michigan; her grandchildren, Andrew Hill (Toni) of Nacogdoches, Texas and Emily Hill of Ruston; her in-laws, Betty Wyatt of Jonesboro, Donald and Mary Shankles of Ruston; and her nephew Bill Hunt, Jr.. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
