He was predeceased by : his wife Lydia A. Bernard; his brother Warren Paul Bernard; his grandparents, Sarah Sampay Bernard, Freddie Bernard, Alice Thomas Solomon and Clarence Solomon, Sr.; and his niece Daphne Bernard Francois.

He is survived by : his daughter Danisha Bernard; his stepchildren, Tiffany O'Brien, Amy Howze, Janell Howze and Robert Howze; his parents, Aurelia Bernard and John Bernard; and his siblings, Pamela Gee, Jr. (John) and Ricky Bernard (Leola). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church (901 N Frederick Ave, Kaplan, LA 70548). A rosary was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
