He was predeceased by: his parents, John Earl "Snow" Dartez and Peggy Melancon; and his grandparents, Pierre Dartez, Marie Mire, Alex Melancon and Alma Guilbeaux.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Dartez; his daughter Sidney Dartez (Cooper Derouen); his stepchildren, Christine Broussard (Seth) and Trent Herpin (Jessica); his stepgrandchildren, Dax, Colton Broussard, Corey and Edwin Herpin; his brothers, Kent Dartez (Trisha), Kevin Dartez (Maria), David Dartez (Kim) and Alex Dartez (Millie); and his pets, Dude and Marshie.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Vincent Funeral Home (300 N Eleazar Ave, Kaplan, LA 70548). A rosary will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church (600 Church Ave, Kaplan, LA 70548). A burial will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Holy Rosary Cemetery (152 Veterans Dr, Kaplan, LA 70548).
