He was predeceased by: his parents, Adam Gordon Newell, Sr. and Sophie Trick Newell; his sister Anita Powell Sclafani; and his daughter Lauren Anita Newell. He is survived by: his wife Zana Hill Newell; his children, Gordon Newell (Debbie), Robin N. Guidry (Don), Karen N. Valley (Donald) and Alison L. Newell; and his grandchildren, Adam Newell (Elizabeth Bagert), John Newell (Molly), Lori Guidry, Victoria Valley, Kristen Newell, Kyle Mayfield and Craig Sanchez.
