He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacquelyn "Jackie" Agnes Kruger Harkreader and Robert "Bob" Kearney Harkreader; and his brother Wayne Lee Harkreader. He is survived by: his wife Sandra "Sandy" Harkreader; his children, Craig Gianelloni (Melisa), Troy Gianelloni, Tracy Hall (Dan) and Stacy Neighbors (Adam); his brother Robert Harkreader; his sister-in-law Helen Harkreader; his nephew Bobby Harkreader (Nicole); and his grandchildren, Shane Gianelloni, Erin Burton, Madison "Maddie" Neighbors, Katelyn "Kate" Hall, Allison "Allie" Neighbors and Raegan Hall. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home (2607 Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA 70062). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of James Harkreader, in honor of his beloved granddaughter, Raegan Hall.
