She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Nixon Sr. and Hattie Nevils Nixon; her husband Reverend Carroll Bushnell; her son-in-law Floyd Odom; and her siblings, Nelda Doucette, Hubert Nixon, Jack Nixon and Rufus "Boosie" Nixon Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Craig Bushnell (Lori), Bruce Bushnell (Sandra) and Mira Odom; and her siblings, Curtis Nixon, Roy Nixon (Linda) and Junelle Bushnell (Terry Bushnell). She is also survived by ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Indian Village United Pentecostal Church (4480 LA-383, Kinder, LA 70648). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
