He was predeceased by: his wife Laura Mae Durio Fontenot; his parents, David Fontenot and Daisey Fontenot; his son Kent Fontenot, Sr.; his son-in-law Jimmy Horner; his great grandchild Adam Reed Istre; and his siblings, Elliot Fontenot, Ella Fontenot Pitre, Dudley Fontenot and Franklin Fontenot.
He is survived by: his children, Brenda Horner, Cynthia Istre (Rudy) and Dell Tullier (Jay); his grandchildren, Dawn Harrill (Gary), Laura David (Joseph), Jeff Horner (Theresa), Craig Istre (Kara), Ramie Horner, Jana Trouth (Kevin), Dustin Shidler, Micah Deshotel (Ashley), Courtney Dupuis, Amanda Deshotel and Kent Fontenot, Jr. (Kaylin); his siblings, Ermin Fontenot (Shirley) and Norman "Blackie" Fontenot; and his son Street. He is also survived by many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
