He was predeceased by : his parents, William and Austin, Jr.; and his sister Jane Austin. He is survived by : his wife Barbara Austin; his children, William "Joey" Austin, IV (Erin Carlson), Marla Austin Sanders (Chad) and Kim Austin Edwards (Nick); his grandchildren, Makenna, Annsley, Libby, Riley, Sabine, Daria and John-Ryan; and his siblings, Katy Austin, Peggy Austin, Keith Austin, Roger Austin and Bryan Austin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, May 12th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, May 13th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Monday, May 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the First Pentecostal Church of Lake Charles (320 Bunker Rd, Lake Charles, LA 70615). A burial was held on Monday, May 13th 2024 at 3:30 PM at the Green Oak Cemetery.
