She was predeceased by: her husband Alban "Ben" Cortez, Sr.; her parents, Walter Loupe and Evelyn Loupe; and her siblings, Eugene Loupe, Ervin Loupe, Essie Mae Folse and Betty Clement.
She is survived by: her children, Julie Cortez Breaux, Elaine Cortez Deroche, Alban Cortez, Jr., Timothy Cortez, Sharon Cortez Gravois, Lisa Cortez, John Cortez and Everett Cortez; and her grandchildren, Randy, Jr., Robbie, Lynelle, Gerald, Jr., Trisha, Janna, Fayla, Robyn, Erica, Mindy, Jordan, Dylan, Mallory, Joel, Brandon and Holden. She is also survived by 33 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church (3723 LA-307, Thibodaux, LA 70301). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 12:45 PM at the St. Lawrence Cemetery (3723 LA-307, Thibodaux, LA 70301).
