He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley Ann Collins Borel; his son Joseph Junius Borel; his parents, Arvillein Borel and Josephine Esther Arceneaux Borel; and his siblings, Thelma Borel, Alton Borel, Minos Borel, Nelson Borel and Clancy Borel.
He is survived by: his daughters, Shirley Borel (Fred) of Boston, MA, Debra Borel of Lafayette, LA, Lisa Levier (Jerry) of Arnaudville, LA, Mary Ledet (Robert) of Opelousas, LA and Melissa Borel (Wilbert) of Carencro, LA; and his siblings, Marmon Borel, Clara Broussard and Dorothy Landry. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
