She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Guidry and Josephine Guidry; and her sisters, Yvonne Richardson, Leavy Duvernay, Vernell Mitchell, Jacqueline Ann Mitchell, Elizabeth "Betty Ann" Guidry and Cheryl Hayes.
She is survived by: her children, Clayton Guidry (Demetria Thomas) of Rosenberg, Texas, Natalie Guidry (Andrew Thompson) of Lafayette, Antoinette Guidry of Lafayette and Samantha Aguillard-Sam of Duson; her daughter-in-law Angela Stelly Shorten; her son Elliott Shorten, Sr.; her siblings, Louis Guidry, Jr. (Alice Boutte) of San Francisco, California, Ruth Guidry of New Orleans, Louisiana and Yvette Guidry of New Orleans, Louisiana; and her niece Johanna Hayes. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 8:30 AM at the Melancon Funeral Home (4708 I-49 Frontage Rd, Opelousas, LA 70570). A rosary was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church (732 N Union St, Opelousas, LA 70570).
