She was predeceased by: her parents, Isaac Thomas and Mary Louise Chevalier; her adoptive parents, Felix Clay and Mary "Gussie" McZeal Clay; her husband John Robert DeRouen, Sr.; her son John "Jun" Robert DeRouen, Jr.; her grandson Kirk Broussard (Poppie); her brothers, Stephen "Henry" Chevalier, Clarence "Cowboy" Matthews and Cary Matthews; and her siblings-in-law, Harold "Bebe" DeRouen and Louisa Poydras DeRouen.
She is survived by: her children, Marcella DeRouen Lindon (James Bruno) of Lafayette, LA and Kirk DeRouen (Treasure Ryan) of Knoxville, TN. She is also survived by ten other grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren who she loved dearly; her brothers.
