It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Barbara Jean Lyons Benitez of Lafayette, Louisiana, who passed away on September 22, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Lyons and Agnes Sonnier; and her daughter Jeanne Alita Benitez. She is survived by: her daughter Yvonne Bell (Keith Patin); her grandsons, Clayton Guy (Sami Smith) and Elliot Bell; her sister Lois Baker; and her nieces, Beulah Fornea (Michael Jaeger) and Rachael Fornea.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Autism Society of Acadiana.
