We announce the death of Beatrice Zapata of Lafayette, Louisiana, who passed away on June 20, 2026, at the age of 91. Beatrice will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Jose G. Zapata; her parents, Jose Torres and Guadalupe Cantu Torres; her siblings, Annie, Carolina, Jose and Ezequiel; and her son-in-law Joseph Barry Wall.
She is survived by: her children, Anson R. Zapata (Courtney) of Lafayette, LA, Leticia A. Zapata of Lafayette, LA and Cynthia J. Zapata of Lafayette, LA; her grandchildren, Sammi (Antonio), Billie and Lexi; her great grandchildren, Luke, Bella, Drake and Remi; and her great great grandchild Kalayo. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
