He was predeceased by: the mother of his children Glenda D. Hicks; his father Thomas James Hicks, Sr.; and his brother Thomas James "T. J." Hicks, Jr.. He is survived by: his significant other Freida Simon of Lafayette; his significant other's children, Chad Simon (Stacey) and Joey Simon of Youngsville; his mother Alice G. Hicks of Opelousas; his children, Reggie Pitre of San Antonio, Texas and Charisse Hicks Guidry of Opelousas; his brothers, Nelson Hicks (Rose) of Opelousas and Larry Hicks of Lake Charles; his grandchildren, Julia Guidry Prudhomme of Lafayette, Jonathan C. Guidry of Port Barre, Lorryn Kizer of San Antonio and Jacob J. Guidry of Port Barre; his great grandchild Jessie Lynn Prudhomme; his son-in-law Johnny C. Guidry of Port Barre; his siblings-in-law, Debbie Hicks of Opelousas and Mickey Dupre (Cathy) of Opelousas; and also, Millie and Zoe Simon of Colorado. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
