He was predeceased by: his parents, George Evans, Sr. and Dorothy Charles Larry; his grandparents, Thomas, Alice Charles, Charlie and Florence Evans; his brothers, George Evans, Jr. and Thomas Evans; his grandson Perry Davis, Jr.; his nephew Merlin Nixon; and his niece Sonia "Tweet" Evans.
He is survived by: his children, Charlie James Evans Jr. and Ramona George (James Sr.); his siblings, Elizabeth "Ann" Moore (Joseph), Irene Chatman (Rodney) of Rayne, LA, Willie Mae Guidry (Rodney) of Clarksville, TN, Merlin Evans (Charlotte) of Crowley, LA and Willie Larry Jr. (Zona) of Rayne, LA; his uncle Chester Charles Sr.; his aunt Mary Handy; the mother of his children Althea George; and his close friends, Percy Harmon and Lee Crossing. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
