He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Hayes and Albertha Collier; and his brother Arthur Hayes, III. He is survived by: his daughter Crystal Mone'Fairley of Georgia; his siblings, Anthony Hayes, Gaynell Hayes Rubin of Lafayette and Vernill Hayes Breaux of Lafayette; and his cousin Syble Wiltz. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
