It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of David Rye Pipkin (Lafayette, Louisiana), born in Shreveport, Louisiana, who passed away on February 23, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Blanchard Pipkin; his former wife Earline Dixon Pipkin; his son Carnell Lewis Pipkin; and his mother Mattie Pipkin. He is survived by: his wife Louise Annette Pipkin of Lafayette, LA; his siblings-in-law, Pauline Smith of Lafayette, LA, Raymond Manuel, Claudious Manuel and Kenny Manuel; his niece Penny Mouton; his sons, Brian Keith Pipkin, Cody Ledee and Fred Johnson; and his grandchildren, Kyler, Kyson, Kylon Ledee, Shania Solomon, Ebony, Allison, Devon Johnson, Kaegan Johnson, Jasmine, Javon Batiste, Marcus, Brian James, Ohasha Davis and George Matthews. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and nieces.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 4, 2022, at Syrie Funeral Home from 8:30 a. m. until 10:30 a. m. All those in attendance must wear masks or face coverings.
