He is survived by : his parents, Peter Voelker (Donna) and Carolyn Voelker Escuriex (Pierre); his son David "Sparrow" Voelker Jr.; his grandparents, Wava Rud, Edward "Nook" and Abigail Voelker; his sister Nancy Voelker Brown (Brandon); his nephew Luke; his niece Ava; his sister Caroline Voelker Vajcner (Joseph); and his nieces and nephews, Champ, Navi and Frankie.

“My deepest sympathies for the Voelker family. David and I were together for 3 n a half years and I will hold a place in my heart forever within me. I will always remember the good in him. Addiction is a progressive, fatal disease and I will honor the rest of my life clean and sober because that's what he would have wanted for me. His death will not be in vain. One addict saved is better than none. And I will save others in Jesus name. I love you forever David”
